Verify functionality of Philips Foot Control on Mac

We have had several requests from partners and customers on how to check, if a Philips Foot Control is functioning correctly on a Mac. Here’s a step-by-step guide to make sure all is setup and working the way it should.

Confirm that the Mac sees the foot pedal

Check under System Information to see, if USB devices, such as a foot control, connected to your Mac are seen by the iOS.

  1. Connect the Foot Control to a USB Port on the Mac
  2. Press and hold the Option key on your keyboard, and click the Apple icon on the menu bar
  3. Choose System Information:
    systeminfo-mac
  4. A Hardware window appears, from the left column select USB. Look for Footcontrol USB and confirm that it is the Philips foot control.

Test the foot pedal

Important note: You must use the Google Chrome web browser.

Once you have confirmed that the Mac iOS sees the Philips Foot Control you can test the foot pedal functionality via the following URL www.html5gamepad.com

Individually “press and hold” the buttons on the foot control to verify functionality.
