The Benefits of Hiring Those with Special Needs

Are you struggling to find the right talent at your company? Have you considered hiring people with disability and special needs? According to Accenture, companies that have improved their inclusion of persons with disabilities over time were four times more likely than others to have total shareholder returns that outperform those of their peer group.

In light of this month’s theme, we wanted to highlight the other benefits that come from hiring those with special needs.

New research from Accenture, in partnership with Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), reveals that companies that embrace best Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices for employing and supporting more persons with disabilities have performed better than their peers.

  • People have this huge stigma against hiring people with disability which is completing absurd. Hiring people with disability can be a bigger advantage over other companies in my opinion.
