Looking back at ILTACON 2022

After a long hiatus, the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) hosted its annual ILTACON conference in person again. We were really looking forward to this wonderful opportunity for the Philips Dictation Team to meet and network with industry professionals in the legal field, the legal IT community, and peers. The 4.5-day conference took place from August 21-25, 2022 at Gaylord National in Maryland and was packed with roadmap sessions, panel discussions, hands-on training, and attendee-driven sessions.

Philips Dictation was thrilled to be a part of ILTACON 2022. Here is a quick recap of the event:

Day 1

The ILTACON exhibit hall was filled with approximately 160 ILTA business partners, ranging from technology providers to financial service providers to consultants. Our brand new booth was all set and our team was super excited to meet with industry professionals to talk about the latest tech. The welcome reception and free food and drinks provided a great start to socialize and for everyone to connect and network in person – after all, meeting in person has become something special in our work lives by now. Our product expert Xonas Dikme held daily roadmap sessions at our booth. Attendees enjoyed the quick and easy introduction to our latest cloud solution developments and experiencing our products live.

Day 2

Starting fully motivated on day 2, we saw even more participation and had many engaging talks at our booth – learning first-hand what matters most to our customers. There was also excitement in the air as our voice tech expert Caroline Cantelon was selected this year for a speaking engagement at the ILTACON Educational Session: Supporting users in a Hybrid Workplace. The roundtable discussion provided insight into how various technologies shifted to support hybrid work arrangements. We spoke alongside:

  • Paul Buckin, Director of Training and Technical Services at Wiley Rein LLP
  • Steve Irons, President at DocSolid
  • Victor Abou Assaleh, Director of Business Development at TitanFile

Day 3

Wrapping up our last day in the booth, we were glad that it worked out this year to go back to working tradeshows like we used to. In all the conversations we had, one key takeaway stood out clearly: Law firms come to realize that technological advancements are in the cloud, so it’s inevitable that the future of law firms is also in the cloud. Particularly when it comes to team collaboration when creating crucial and time-sensitive legal documentation with voice technology, the few last years have made it clear, how important it is to keep up the work no matter where you are located. This switch is now more important than ever as many law firms have permanently adopted a hybrid work model and attorneys and support staff are demanding access to tools that make their lives simpler.

Last but not the least…

We’d like to thank the volunteer committee, ILTA staff, and business partner community for the planning and execution of this event. We’re looking forward to connecting with customers in 3D again!
