ABA Techshow 2025: Exploring the future of legal innovation

We recently wrapped up our voice technology showcase at ABA Techshow 2025, that was held in Chicago from April 2-5. Our industry experts Mike, Ali and Kendahl worked our booth at the event offering insights into our advanced speech-to-text solutions and latest AI feature enhancements built to streamline legal workflows. This yearโ€™s event brought together legal professionals, emerging technologies, and forward-thinking firms, all focused on a single mission: transformation.

We asked our team about their experiences at the Techshow.

Itโ€™s not just tech โ€“ itโ€™s transformation

As Mike puts it: โ€œABA Techshow 2025 isnโ€™t just about technology, itโ€™s about transformation.โ€ That message echoed through every session, every conversation, and every booth interaction. AI dominated the discussion, not just as a futuristic promise but as a present-day reality. From automated document creation workflows supported by speech recognition to smart transcripts offering summaries and action points, AI is already embedded in many legal tech products on the market.

Security and workflow automation also took center stage, highlighting the growing need for legal professionals to streamline their operations without compromising client confidentiality.

Booth buzz: Honest conversations and hands-on curiosity

We saw a decent turnout of attendees at our booth and were able to have engaging conversations. Mike and Ali stated: โ€œWe enjoyed the meaningful and open conversations at this event centered around our products and AI.โ€ Thereโ€™s a clear appetite for innovation, and it turns out that legal professionals are actively looking for alternatives to their current โ€“ often on-premise โ€“ setups. Considering a cloud-based solution while ensuring data security on all devices made them have a closer look at Philips SpeechLive.

Partnerships and integration talks

The show wasnโ€™t just about the latest tech products – it was also about building partnerships. The message was clear: interoperability helps customers streamline their IT solutions and improves usability. Legal teams need tools that work together, not siloed systems that create more problems than they solve. We had great conversations with business partners to strengthen our relationships and be able to build cloud solutions that integrate for the best customer experience.

Takeaways

AI is no longer optional. Itโ€™s the core of every conversation, product, and strategy.

Legal professionals want better workflows, not just more tools. Workflow mapping was a central theme, emphasizing the importance of understanding firm operations before jumping into automation. It’s not just about buying new software or tools; it’s about understanding what you need and identifying inefficiencies.

Integration is a must. Platforms that connect and communicate will lead the next wave of legal tech. From AI to automation, it was great to see that legal professionals are ready for change.

Mike informed, one of the most thought-provoking moments of the event came during a visionary keynote session. Attendees were asked to imagine waking up in 2034, Rip Van Winkle-style, and discovering a radically changed legal landscape. Delivered by some of the countryโ€™s most forward-thinking law professors, this talk dived into the integration of AI, evolving client expectations, and emerging regulatory structures.

Final thoughts

ABA Techshow 2025 proved that the future of law is not just digitalโ€”itโ€™s dynamic, AI-driven, and deeply human-centered. Whether you’re exploring new tools, rethinking your workflows, or simply staying ahead of the curve, this year’s show offered something for everyone ready to embrace the next era of legal practice.
