Voice tech meets the legal world at the NALA Conference and Expo 2025
Our team traveled to Atlantic City to exhibit at NALA Conference and Expo 2025 where paralegals, legal tech enthusiasts, and solution providers gathered to share ideas and discover whatโs next in legal innovation. We caught up with our team members Kendahl and Matt to hear what stood out. Letโs read on.
What were some key learnings from the event?
Kendahl: There was a lot of excitement among paralegals about tech solutions. You could really feel that theyโre actively looking for tools that can streamline their work.
Matt: Many paralegals we spoke to, showed real interest in Philips SpeechLive, especially when they saw the Smart Transcript feature and how our AI can summarize conversations with multiple speakers. There was a court reporting exhibitor who was curious about what we do. We had a great discussion about how our speech-to-text features could be a viable alternative to traditional stenographers, especially for courts looking to modernize.
And what about the product interest specifically?
Matt: We were the only voice solution at the show, which made us stand out right away. This gave us a unique edge to talk about how voice and AI can transform the way legal professionals work.
What is your biggest takeaway from the event?
Kendahl: The excitement around being back at in-person events is real. People were genuinely happy to connect face-to-face again. A lot of the conversations centered around using voice for greater efficiency. That message really landed well.
Matt: For me, it was seeing paralegals realize how much time they could save using SpeechLive. Once they saw the AI features in action, many told us that it could cut their document creation time in half.
How was your overall experience at the show?
Kendahl: Great energy all around. Itโs worth noting that paralegals are very engaged and they are often the important bridge to decision-makers in their companies initiating tech investments.
Matt: Totally agree. Attending the show gave us a great opportunity to spotlight what voice tech can do for every team member with SpeechLive and our new AI features. The live demos really helped us connect.
Booth traffic โ howโd it go?
Kendahl: We saw over 60 visitors at our booth, which kept us busy and the conversations flowing.
Anything that stood out or caught your attention?
Matt: The consistent theme was time-saving solutions. People are overburdened and genuinely curious about AI. It was great to see AI as a central point of interest, especially tied to SpeechLive.
Any fun or memorable moments?
Kendahl: Mattโs live voice-to-text demos were the hit of the event! People loved seeing how the technology works in real-time.
Matt: I really enjoyed how open attendees were. It was easy to start conversationsโthey were curious and eager to learn what we had to offer. In short, it was a fantastic event filled with energy, curiosity, and a clear desire from legal professionals to explore tools that can make their work easier. If this momentum continues, voice-powered AI tools like Philips SpeechLive are going to play a major role in the future of legal documentation.
